Job Hunting Sucks

I have two drafts of potential blogs sitting here… trying to complete them. But I’m also trying to “transition” out of my current position.

I’m taking a course that is teaching me some amazing things lesson one:
Start over.

Not really, but it feels like it. I mean, I’m super excited about this course because for the past 3 months my job hunting has been fruitless even though I keep hearing that my resume is:

Amazing and shows such diversity of skills. You could fit into any marketing position and any industry. You are obviously a quick learner. Any employer would be lucky to have you.

After hearing that from multiple people, you would think that the employers interviewing me would, well, have me.

The biggest thing I have to do now, write content and get published! They said “write a blog”. Ha! Well, I would not turn any of this over to a potential employer unless I was thinking of working at Buzzfeed.

So here I am, trying to figure out a balance of keeping up my brand new blog, figuring out what to write and actually writing articles and then submitting them for publications.

All I can say is that I can actually see a light at the end of this very long tunnel for the first time in a very long time. I am excited.

  1. I’m doing the same thing — pitching articles and honing creative writing for contests and journals. It’s a lot of work! But stay strong — and good luck! 😀
